Gridlines in Viewfinder: X-T2 and X100T

I like the idea of gridlines when I’m framing a shot in the X-T2 and X100T. It helps to keep my photos horizontally and vertically true. I’ve seen this feature in video reviews and wanted to activate it in my Fuji Xs. I failed in my first attempts until I finally figured out that it requires TWO separate settings:

X-T2

In the menu, go to Setup (the wrench icon) and select SCREEN SET-UP.

Step 1. In the SCREEN SETTING menu, select FRAMING GUIDELINE.
Next, select one of the three options: GRID 9 , GRID 24, or HD FRAMING.

Step 2. Back in the SCREEN SETTING menu, select DISP. CUSTOM SETTING and check FRAMING GUIDELINE.

X100T

Step 1: In the menu, select SET-UP menu 2 (wrench icon 2):

  1. Select SCREEN SET-UP
  2. Select FRAMING GUIDELINE
  3. Select one of the three options: GRID 9 , GRID 24, or HD FRAMING.

Step 2: Select SHOOTING MENU 3 (camera icon 3):

  1. Select DISP. CUSTOM SETTING
  2. Select OVF
  3. Check FRAMING GUIDELINE
  4. Select EVF/LCD
  5. Check FRAMING GUIDELINES
